I get divorced or legally separated?
When you get divorced or legally separated, you may want to consider making changes to your benefits plan, beneficiaries, payroll tax withholding, and contact/emergency information. You are responsible to inform Human Resources of any court ordered actions. You are responsible to remove your ex-spouse from coverage immediately upon divorce.
You can make changes to your benefits within 31 days of the event. The decisions you make will affect your benefits for the remainder of the benefits plan year. All changes are submitted to HR for final approval before being sent to the carrier. Some changes may require a form to be completed or for additional information to be provided.
